    Nomads Records is back with a new release. This time, the Yogyakarta-based experimental unit "Senyawa" became the newest champion of the Medan city label. This opportunity was obtained after Senyawa opened partnerships to labels to release their latest album, "Once upon a time".

    Senyawa is an experimental music duo with Rully Shabara (extended vocal technique) and Wukir Suryadi (homemade instrument). The music that they create is a combination of extended vocal technique and a homemade instrument. The instrument was handcrafted by master instrument builder Wukir out of one long piece of bamboo, it is a string instrument with guitar pick-ups—it is amplified and processed through several effects pedals but at times is played as an acoustic instrument, percussion and string instrument.

    For Nomads itself, this is the first time releasing a band outside Medan after previously only focusing on city musicians themselves. The concept that is offered in the Nomads version, Senyawa album will include illustrators who have been curated by Nomads and Soundfren including @joshuapetra, @yorarizky, @hellnoempty, @aeroswaner, @junieawanbagaskara, @injuriespaper, @akbaridz, @ezaalhafidz and @ t3rapi. In addition, there will be a remix of one of Sen Compound's singles which will be executed by Verisa. The album will be released in series on February 21, 2021.
